Mrs. Brande Manzer
Hi there! My name is Miss Manzer and I am so lucky to be the junior high ELA teacher at our wonderful, small, rural school! Teaching English is my true passion and I love every moment of it! I am also fortunate enough to be teaching grade 7/8 social studies this year, which is also an area of interest of mine and social studies was my minor degree in university. This year things are changed up for me and it is the first year in my entire ten year career that I am not teaching any elementary. Instead, I am teaching my junior high cores (and junior high Drama and Foods options classes), as well as grade 11/12 CALM and senior high options too (CTS and Foods). I am excited about this new change and to be moving up in divisions. I am also the school's Optimal Learning Coach (formally called Peer Instructional Coach) and the teacher advisor for our school's Student Leadership group. My days are never dull, as I am always busy, busy, busy with the various projects my various roles entail.
As my students will tell you, I am a proud puppy mom!!! My pups are my babies! I have a three year old lab/mastiff/rottweiler cross, Bryley, and a one and a half year old black shepherd/heeler cross we adopted from a rescue, Maverick (Bryley is in the photo with me, as Maverick would not sit still). They are definitely spoiled and extremely loved! We live on an acreage in between Wainwright and Vermilion, with my boyfriend, Kurtis. The commute is a bit long, but as my students will also tell you, I don't mind because it gives me a chance to enjoy my McDonald's coffee every single morning.
This year has started out wonderfully and I am excited to see what the rest of it brings. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at the school, or by email.
